This twelve-day journey circles the country from Casablanca through the north, over the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, into the Sahara, and back through Morocco’s southern valleys. Travel through the imperial cities of Rabat and Fes, the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis before crossing into desert landscapes at Merzouga and Erg Chebbi. The route continues through the gorges and oases of the south — Dades, Todgha, and the Draa and Roses Valleys — before finishing in Marrakech and returning to the coast. Along the way, the experience is built around local encounters: a Berber pizza cooked in the desert, a weekly donkey and sheep market, tea with nomads, a hike through the Monkey Fingers rock formations, and dinner at a family home in Dades Gorge. Nights are spent in riads, traditional guesthouses, and a desert camp beneath the stars, offering a complete and culturally rich crossing of Morocco.
